Meet our Doctors
Dr Emma King
MD/MLifestyleMed/BSc(First Class Honours)/FRACGP/FASLM
Originally from Perth, I moved to Adelaide to complete my medical studies at Flinders University and now consider myself a South Aussie.
I completed an Honours degree in Pathology at the University of WA. Subsequently, I was the Manager of a start-up biotherapy company and then worked as a Business Consultant in both Australia and the United Arab Emirates.
After completing a Doctor of Medicine (MD), I worked across the Lyell McEwin and Modbury Hospitals before completing my training in General Practice. I have worked as a GP in Adelaide, Gawler, Nhulunbuy in the NT, and now in both Mount Barker and Uraidla.
I love general practice and working in rural and remote Australia has allowed me the privilege of contributing to lives of my fellow community members and their families. I practice a broad range of medicine including men’s and women’s health, paediatrics, management of chronic conditions and mental health. I have a special interest in Lifestyle Medicine and have completed a Masters Degree and further research in this field. Lifestyle Medicine is applicable to many aspects of general practice including preventative health, metabolic health and weight management, chronic disease management and mental health. Because Lifestyle Medicine is underpinned by a long-term partnership that supports patient-derived goals, I offer longer consults specific to this.
I enjoy spending time with my family (mostly in the Hills, at the beach and alongside soccer pitches), yoga, gardening, cooking, and a good TV series
